The College of Languages and Linguistics (CLL) is one of constituent colleges of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines existing for more than 20 years. Originally the College of Languages and Mass Communication, the college was renamed CLL when the College of Communication split in 2001. The College has two departments namely Department of English, Foreign Languages, and Linguistics (DEFLL) and Kagawaran ng Filipinolohiya (DF). CLL serves as the University’s school for the improvement in language teaching and education.
The two undergraduate programs of the CLL have Level III Accredited Status (a national recognition) from the Accrediting Agency of the Chartered Colleges and Universities of the Philippines (AACCUP). The realization of this distinction was accomplished through the concerted efforts of the faculty and students who are engaged in language learning and teaching, research, extension and community service, production, local and international linkage forging, and stakeholder empowerment.
